Skills Transfer Courses
These courses a
re designed to give a grounding in modelling skills, and act as a confidence boost whilst trying out a different techniques. Led by experienced modellers in a semi-formal format, as you can see from a recent point-building day they are hands-on. A list of general tools is provided, and specialist tools and materials, including kits if appropriate, are provided within the cost making them excellent value. Courses are normally held on Sundays from around 10am when parking on the street outside Keen House is free. | Wiring a Layout | Sunday 22 / 8 / 10 10am - 5pm | An introduction to wiring layouts. Including soldering electrical connections (with hands-on practice), the differences between DC and DCC, planning sections and wiring. | £15 (£10 for MRC members) |

Introduction to Track-building | Sunday 24 / 8 /10 10am - 5pm | To understand the options available for cost-effective and prototypical track construction; and by the end of the day, to have built a working point in 4mm scale (the price includes the cost of the parts to make a 4mm point) | £25 (£20 for MRC members) |
