About this event
Simon takes us through the components of a present-day British signalling system and explains how it all works, including lineside signals, train detection and interlockings. He’ll show how it can be incorporated into a model railway, including his own layout, Collingwood.
Simon Paley is a Signalling Principles Designer with Network Rail Design Delivery at Reading as well as a Shop Assistant at Kernow Model Rail Centre. He has been modelling for at least 20 years and designing signalling schemes for 7 years. He is the author of ‘Colour Light Signalling for Model Railways’ and has written several signalling and detailing articles for the model press
