Our Autumn 2016 lecture programme covers a diverse range of subjects from DCC control, through the Gottard line to one of the most infamous railway accidents. Visitors are welcome.

Mick Moignard presents: DCC – basics & upwards
DCC is one of the most important advances in the Model Railway hobby since we gave up keys for electricity.Come to this lecture to understand what DCC is, how it works and why it’s so valuable at all levels of the hobby, regardless of scale. We’ll look at choosing and purchasing a system, at decoders and their installation, layout wiring and running trains and then look around the edges at a few of the other things it can do.

Andrew David presents: Victorian Coaching Stock & Britain’s Deadliest Railway Disaster: Quintinshill –100 years down the line
Death and destruction on the Caledonian main line – May 1915… two antique Great Central coaches fully restored – November 2015… discover the connection between the two. A joint event between the MRC and the Great Central Railway Society.
Non-MRC members welcome at all lectures, which start at 7.30, and with a short interval normally conclude around 9.15
Visitors are requested to make a suggested donation of £3.00, MRC members can attend any lecture free of charge.
All MRC lectures are held in Keen House, 4 Calshot Street, London N1 9DA.
Please note that Keen House has steps or stairs to all areas.
