London’s Transport in Miniature
An Underground modelling themed one day mini-exhibition
About this event
The MRC together with their friends at the London Underground Railway Society are organising a one day mini-exhibition featuring London Underground modelling.
The event plans to have a selection of model railway layouts, displays, demonstrations and manufacturers present. Those confirmed to date include:
Our very own impressive 2mm FS exhibition layout Copenhagen Fields, based on the area to the north of King’s Cross depicting the routes into the station, the North London Railway crossing over, street running trams in Caledonian Road and both Piccadilly Line Underground stations York Road and Caledonian Road.

Kelvin Grove/Thompson Street OO gauge exhibition layout from Craig Tyler and the Corby MRC

Cassiobury the latest OO exhibition layout currently under build from Eric French (aka know as Underground Eric) and team.

Carlton Vale OO gauge exhibition layout from the CV Collective (Bob Farrell, Howard Bowman, Roger Tuke & friends) possibly as a static exhibit due to space constraints and that they are currently renewing one fiddle yard prior to its next outing at Tolworth Showtrain in November.

Lammas Lane, a compact N gauge exhibition layout from Oliver Homer

Revolution Trains, with their recently released N gauge 1938 tube stock.
PT Models, Tom Stageman showing a display of his OO gauge 3D printed models finished by Bob Farrell. Possibly some rakes from the workbenches of Howard & Roger too.
Ted O’Day & Mike Taylor with a display of models and a modelling demonstration of kit building from former Harrow Model Shop and Radley Models kits. Ted & Mike used to make up and finish kits for the late Phil Radley’s customers.

Murray’s Models, with Rafe & Ocky displaying their impressive 3D printed stock.

and of course LURS society stall recruiting new membership and selling copies of Underground News.
Hopefully the day should be an ideal chance to see current strands of Underground modelling and engage with those exhibiting as well as seeing a range of models from RTR, kit built and 3D printed examples across a range of scales and eras. There will definitely be prototypes from 1890s to current Piccadilly 2024 Stock on display! But equally important it should be a chance for both societies to attract new members as well as a rare chance for like minded modellers to meet up and socialise. We trust members will patronise the event and assist to bring it to the attention of any friends that maybe interested.
It will be held at Keen House, London N1 9DA between hours of 11.00 and 16.00.
Tickets on the door to the public will be £12.00 for adults , accompanied 5-16s £4. In advance and for members of both LURS and the MRC entry will be £10.00 – Advance tickets will be on sale from July 2026.
