We are delighted to have been invited to exhibit at the London Model Enginneeing Exhibition 2016 – held over three days from 15-17th January at Alexandra Palace – also home of the London Festival of Railway Modelling in March. There is a large cross-over between model engineering and model engineering – not only at the ‘big end’ of model railways – such as live steam, Gauge 1 etc, but even the smallest gauges often require engineering skills to construct a working layout. So on our stand we have a display of Deltic locomotives from 5″ gauge (about 1/11th scale) right down to N-gauge (1/148th scale) – the former weighing around 1.25cwt and definately at the top end of ‘modelling’.
We also have a variety of demonstrators on the stand over the weekend showing the practical engineering as applied to various elements of modelling railways in a variety of scales, who are as alwats delighted to talk about what they are doing, and the benefits of joining The MRC.
